Welcome to Laughter Workout

Laughter is a global language which creates an immediate shift in our body’s physiology. It changes our emotional state and perspective and encourages positive thinking.

In today’s fast paced and demanding world, not many things make us laugh. Stress related illnesses are one of the most common reasons patients visit their doctor and an increasing reason for absenteeism in the workplace.

Laughter is therapeutic and a great antidote to stress. It can encourage open communication and trust, productivity and emotional intelligence. It is said that it uses the right side of the brain increasing creativity and is good for problem solving.

Babies and children laugh easily, in fact they are said to laugh around 400 times a day! As we become teenagers, we laugh much less-possibly as a result of being told by grownups to “act our age“ or, maybe because we become more self conscious. By the time we reach adulthood our sense of humour is more intellectual and we often wait for comedy which we consider to be funny, or others to make us laugh. Consequently adults laugh only an average of 14 times a day!

From September Laughter and Relaxation Sessions will also be held on the first Saturday of every month

Join us at our Laughter and Relaxation Sessions in Loughton Essex. They are a great way to de-stress.

Loughton:
Fortnightly (Fridays) between 12:30 and 1:30 pm
Monthly (first Sunday) between 11:45 am and 12:45 pm

The easily learned techniques can be used on a day to day basis.

Laughter Workout conducts Laughter and Relaxation sessions which are based on Laughter Yoga.

The techniques combine gentle stretching, yogic breathing, and laughter exercises.
The exercises are conducted using child-like playfulness and eye contact. As laughter can be contagious, often pretend laughter becomes real so that natural laughter follows. Each session ends with relaxation.

Laughter and Relaxation sessions can be held within the working environment, events, workshops, community settings or at a Laughter Club - as long as there is sufficient space.
